In this short article we will look at how Liverpool have become mentality monsters who always seem to find a way to get the win or at least keep their unbeaten run alive, most recently against Aston Villa away at Villa Park.

If we look at the fixtures Liverpool have played so far this season, they've already come from behind 5 times this season to go on to win the game or draw against United at Old Trafford, winning the game in extra time twice against Leicester and recently at Villa park. The other two games were Newcastle and Spurs, neither being easy games, with the Premier League being one of the toughest around. The most notable for me would be Leicester at home, winning the game with a penalty, converted by James Milner, in the 95th minute, this was a game which Liverpool dominated, with Leicester scoring from their first shot on target, when in contrast Liverpool had 8 shots on target and 18 off target. Just from those stats we can see that Liverpool pushed and pushed for that second goal and ultimately dominated the game, but the notable point is that they didn't give up, they didn't settle for the one goal, even at 1-0, they wanted another, to secure the game and to go to concede in 80th minute and then end up winning the game in extra time takes sheer will power to say "no we are winning this game" and that is what Liverpool have been all about this season. The character this team has shown this season is nothing but remarkable and is a real attribute for the Merseyside team in their pursuit for the title.

Present and Past Liverpool managers as Klopp gets one over his predecessor

This mentality stems from the Manager, Klopp said when he first came to Liverpool that his Job is to turn "Doubters into Believers" and he has certainly achieved that over his tenure at the club so far, from a Liverpool fan's point of view, even when we concede or go behind, i have faith in this team, that they will turn it around and still get the 3 points, that is what Klopp has installed in this club and it is embedded in both the fans and the players.

Liverpool have already won ten points from losing positions this season, and this just tells us how far this Liverpool side has come, as this stat would never been about when Klopp first came in. Whether it's a draw like at Old Trafford, with Lallana scoring in the 85th minute, or a win scoring in the 94th minute from a corner, this team find a way.

This mindset for the fans is crucial, especially for game goers who are in the Kop or on the road every week, as the players needs the fans to keep them going when they aren't at their best or the opposition is being frustrating, they give the players that extra push to keep going and so far this season its worked for the reds. This is one of the many reasons that Liverpool fans are regarded as one of the best in the world, the atmosphere pushes the players to their limits.

Another game which we should mention in this article is Sheffield United away, this was a game where the reds were frustrated by Sheffield's tight defence and defensive structure, but Liverpool kept pushing for a goal and were rewarded by the error by Dean Henderson in goal fumbling the ball into the net. This was a very lucky goal for Liverpool but it shows that there persistence is being rewarded, wearing down their opposition and finding a way to get a result, in different ways which is key, it might not always be luck, it could be a penalty like at Leicester or a bit of magic like a Villa park where Mane produced a superb assist and a great header for the winner. Either way, the mentality this team has is one of a title contender and it could be what leads them to their first title in over 30 years.

A quote from John McGinn after their 2-1 loss to Liverpool... "They don't give up, they keep going. They probably tired us out too much. Chances were coming and we were trying to keep them at bay but the ball keeps coming back. It was two sloppy goals from our point of view but Liverpool just drain your mentally" ... The relentless reds tire you out with their fitness level and persistent to get the result they want, always going for 3 points and this mentality is one of title winners.

This season Klopp's team haven't always been at their best but like we've already discussed they've found a way to grind a result out, now unbeaten in 11 games, one of the best starts in premier league history and next week they have Man City at home. This is a game that could be a crucial game in deciding who wins the title this season and both teams will have to be at their best to get a result.

Will Liverpool's unbeaten run continue? we will find out this weekend.
