Leicester City saw themselves break the Premier league record for biggest win margin by any side in the Premier league era, the foxes put the saints to the sword in a emphatic 9-0 win on the road. Leicester City have been a revelation this season, much like the season of 2015-16, but without the title aspirations, with Liverpool and Man City still being a level above the young foxes. However, it is safe to say that Brendan Rogers is doing a fantastic job with this young side and deserves all the praise coming his way, his side look like a real team, with hunger, desire and all the talent to break the top 6; dare I say it but even the top four.

Two of their main summer signings were the stars of the show, Ayoze Perez scoring a hat-trick and Youri Tielemans running the show from the middle of the park. Firstly on Ayoze Perez who before this game hasn't scored or lived up to his 30 million transfer fee, however this game he came alive, he was energetic, dynamic and went straight at the saints, no thinking, just an eye for the goal and it paid of for him, by far his best performance for the foxes and maybe a sign for more to come from the Spaniard. Now for the maestro of this thriller, Youri Tielemans, who first announced himself in the Belgian league, scoring 30 yard screamers for fun; in contrast this game was a different endeavour for the young Belgian, he was more of a "Regista" on this night, transitioning play, getting Leicester on the front foot and always providing an outlet for forward play. He also got amongst the goals with the second of the night and setting up Perez for his first of the night but for me tonight was more about his overall play, 9 ball recoveries, 4 chances created and 3 key passes, proving he can do both defence and attack, it was a night to remember for Tielemans, who looks like an absolute steal at 40 Million.
Other goals came from Vardy who also got a hat-trick, James maddison and Ben Chilwell, sharing the goals around the team. Vardy again showing just how deadly a striker he can be, with three very well taken goals and is starting to become real icon in the Premier league era.
A thriller of a game but one that might not of came to pass without the impact of VAR, the system has been questioned hugely this season but tonight, the system showed exactly why it can be so effective if used properly; during the build up to Chilwell's opener, Bertrand lunges at Perez and catches him nastly with his studs in an attempt for the ball but one that could of been a lot worse, now this wasn't caught by the ref, however it was by VAR and this allowed play to continue, much to Leicester's joy as it led to there opener but it also meant that the ref could go back to the incident, look it over and make the right decision in sending off Bertrand. After this it was a landslide for Southampton, before they knew it, they were 3-0 down and the game was already done. It was a tough night for the saints fans, who some were seen leaving after the 3rd goal and more so the stadium was pretty much empty of Saints fans when the 9th goal was scored. It will be a very tricky season for Southampton after tonight's humiliation and it is very possible that they could be returning to the championship next season.
Another special mention to Harvey Barnes, who produced a superb assist for Perez's third and was a real threat all game on the left flank, felt like a career breakthrough game for the youngster from Burnley.
Leicester travel to Crystal Palace next weekend and will look to continue their good form and cement themselves amongst the top four, could be a very thrilling season for the foxes this year.
